Episode 60: Interview with Dr. Will Tuttle about veganism, questioning mainstream narratives, and the Boomerang Effect

This week, I am pleased to present my interview with Dr. Will Tuttle, the author of the best-selling book The World Peace Diet: Eating for Spiritual Health and Social Harmony.

Will Tuttle has given many thousands of speeches on veganism over the past 40 years, having presented in over 50 countries and in all 50 states of America. He is a former Zen Buddhist monk, and he has a PhD from the University of Berkeley in California. In addition to having written The World Peace Diet, he is the author of Your Inner Islands: The Keys to Intuitive Living and the editor of Circles of Compassion: Essays Connecting Issues of Justice and Buddhism and Veganism: Essays Connecting Spiritual Awakening and Animal Liberation. He has taught college courses about philosophy, religion, creativity, and humanities, and he is a composer and concert pianist.

In this interview, Will speaks about the Boomerang Effect, which describes how when humans harm nonhuman animals, this harm rebounds upon humanity and causes social, environmental, health-related, and spiritual disharmony amongst the human population. Then we discuss why we need to challenge the mainstream narratives regarding animal agriculture, public health, and COVID-19, and Will highlights what we can do to speak up for justice, peace, and the truth. Will also tells me his story of becoming vegan and describes the blessings that we receive when we become vegan.

Dr. Tuttle is such an inspiring and insightful person, and everyone needs to hear his words!

At the end of the episode we'll listen to Will's piano song, "The Call".

I hope you'll also consider reading two of Will's online essays, "Spooks: The Herding of Humanity" and "The Vacca-cination of Humanity".

  1. Will, I admire how you, with laser-like accuracy and clarity, pierce to the heart of the matter, to the root of the problems facing the world today, and excavate the glaring solutions that have been previously obscured. And Madeline, your images serve to awaken compassion. Thank you both for your tireless work in uncovering the truth in complimentary ways .
