Episode 12: Interview with Matt, founder of Challenge Speciesism

Episode 12 of Always for Animal Rights features a fascinating interview with Matt, the founder of Challenge Speciesism.

Challenge Speciesism is an initiative dedicated to ending the oppression of non-human animals by challenging us to unlearn speciesist discrimination. We all need to work on unlearning speciesism, and Matt has created some great educational videos about how we can work at being non-speciesist in our language and in the way we frame our discussions about veganism and animal rights.

In our interview, we covered several topics, including the following:
  • What speciesism is (and what it isn't)
  • Why our treatment of non-human animals shouldn't be based on how intelligent we believe them to be
  • Why we should focus on protecting individual sentient beings rather than preserving a species as a whole
  • The speciesism behind comparing non-human animals with "products"
  • How we can use language to work towards the liberation of non-human animals
  •  ... And more!

Definitely, definitely listen to this episode if you can!
